At Waxahachie Community Theatre, we believe the arts have the power to inspire, encourage, and shape young lives. Through our youth programs, students have the opportunity to grow their confidence, creativity, and love for the performing arts.
As a part of our commitment to supporting these young artists, WCT awards scholarships to eligible graduating seniors who have participated in our programs. These scholarships are our way of celebrating their dedication and helping them pursue their next chapter in education and beyond.

2026 Recipients
Josue Escobar is a 2026 graduate of Waxahachie High School, where he ranked in the top 2% of his graduating class. He has enjoyed performing in three Waxahachie Community Theatre summer musicals: Madagascar Jr., The Musical Adventures of Flat Stanley, and Dare to Dream. Josue has loved returning each summer to grow as a performer, build friendships, and be part of the theatre community.
This fall, Josue will attend the University of Texas at Arlington, where he will major in Vocal Performance, minor in Visual Arts, and participate in the Honors College. He looks forward to continuing to develop his talents in music and art while preparing for a future in the arts.
